Antifungal lipopeptides from Bacillus strains isolated from rhizosphere of Citrus trees

The microbial ecology within the rhizosphere of Tylenchulus semipenetrans-infected Citrus L. trees was examined. Sixty bacterial strains were obtained from roots infected and eggs T. semipenetrans. Among these some agar plates two nematophagous fungi, Dactylellina gephyropaga (Drechsler) Ying Yang & Xing Z. Liu Arthrobotrys conoides Drechsler. Bacterial identified using 16S rDNA, gyrA rpoB genes sequence analysis. as Bacillus spp. examined for their ability to synthesize surfactin, iturin, fengycin, kurstakin bacillomycin PCR amplification sequencing encoding genes. Additionally, screened antifungal activity against F. solani, D. A. dual culture technique. Lipopeptide whole cells supernatants MALDI-TOF-MS majority belong genus with predominance B. cereus, thuringiensis, pumilus subtilis. A total fifteen demonstrated an strongest effect found in amyloliquefaciens. analysis lipopeptides showed a high diversity molecules, including majorly iturin C, D, fengycin A/B Kurstakin especially subtilis strains. Moreover, that responsible antibiotics associated presence Surfactins/Pumilacidin Fengycin A/B. Our results wide among citrus ability. extend importance potential candidates antimicrobial activities due secrete cyclic lipopeptides.
